Job Description:
Intermountain Healthcare invites applications for the role of
Medical Laboratory Scientist at our state-of-the-art laboratory
facilities. This critical position contributes to our mission of
providing outstanding healthcare by conducting complex clinical
laboratory tests used for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
of disease. Candidates will be a part of a dedicated team committed
to innovative practices and the highest standards of medical
laboratory testing in a not-for-profit health system that values
community wellbeing and pioneering medical solutions. Perform
complex clinical laboratory tests and interpret results accurately.
Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, conducting tests,
and recording results. Stay current with the latest industry
techniques and methodologies. Collaborate with healthcare teams to
assist in clinical decision-making. Participate in the evaluation
of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory field. Maintain
laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff and laboratory
technicians. Proficiency in using laboratory information systems
(LIS) and electronic health records (EHR). Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to
work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Medical

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or a similar
certifying body is highly preferred.
