Job Description Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Location: Hudson, Florida Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent (Contingent) Shift: Days and Nights (Rotating Weekends) Positions Available: Multiple Specialty: RN – Staff (Med/Surg) Work Setting: Onsite (Required) Job Summary The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for Medical-Surgical patients. Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, including test and examination results. Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. Utilize critical thinking skills in a fast-paced acute care environment. Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license. If compact license is held, Florida RN license must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required. Acute care nursing experience required. No recent LTAC experience accepted. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of start date if not current. Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic computer and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Previous Medical-Surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and patient-centered care.
