Summary and Qualifications Joining a high-risk labor and delivery
nursing unit offers the opportunity to make a profound impact on
both mothers and babies, providing expert care in critical and
complex situations. It's a fast-paced, challenging environment

"Above All Else" Q2 recipient. This position supports the mission
of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality
of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional
focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The
Obstetric RN oversees and directs the care of pregnant women and
their families. The Obstetric RN is responsible for the care of
pregnant patients and their families in antepartum, intrapartum,
and postpartum periods. Obstetric patients include low-risk labor
and deliveries, surgical patients (cesarean sections, IUFTs,
cerclages, and BBTL), and high-risk antepartum and surgical
patients including placenta accreta spectrum patients. We also care
for those patients who have suffered the loss of a fetus or baby as
well as postpartum patients requiring a higher level of care. PSL
L&D works closely with our Level IV NICU unit. Patients from
our local patient population as well as transports from other
hospitals within Colorado and surrounding states. Dedicated 24 hour
OB and anesthesia coverage as well as a 24 hour PNNP (Perinatal
Nurse Practitioner). Oversees and directs the care of assistive
personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to
assigned patients. When the need arises, will perform other duties
as assigned by supervisor. Type of equipment: Phillips fetal
monitors, EKG monitors, Central Lines, Baxter IV fluid pumps. CPN
for nursing charting and Meditech (eMAR & order entry)

Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current
licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or
current active multistate Registered Nurse license; BLS Healthcare
Provider; NRP within 3 months of hire*; ACLS within 6 months of
hire*. Fetal Monitoring Course within 1 year*. *Colleagues
participating in a transition to practice program must have all
required certifications at the completion of their program and
transition to independent practice. B. Education: Graduate of an
accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. C. Experience:
One-year experience in acute care preferred, women's, critical care
