Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Multi-trauma step-down unit position on 10th floor • Patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse free of patients (estimated ratios, not guaranteed) • Work with highly acute patient population including stable vented/trached patients • Must have BLS certification • Must have ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction • ACLS certification preferred • Operate various equipment including vents, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes • Participate in typical procedures such as placing chest tubes and bedside bronchoscopy • Work with EMR system - Meditech • Must be a team player with ability to handle challenging, highly acute patient population • Work in level 1 trauma center with highly complex and interesting patients • Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 3 techs • Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2 techs • 20-bed unit with approximately 40 total staff members Facility: This healthcare organization operates a Level 1 trauma center featuring a specialized multi-trauma step-down unit.
