Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - PACU experience - ACLS - PALS Description: Travel RN position in the PACU. The unit has 14 beds in Phase I PACU and six beds in Phase II PACU. The staff includes 24 RNs. Day shift consists of 1 charge RN and 6-12 RNs, depending on the census. Night shift includes 2 RNs on call. Patient ratios are 2:1 in Phase I and 3:1 in Phase II. The equipment includes GE monitoring with a central monitoring station and PyxisES medication stations. Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech. This unit performs a high volume of surgical services, except for transplant, open-heart, and burn cases. It is noted as a significant center for robotic surgery. Typical procedures include spines and total joints. The ideal candidate has a positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude. The environment requires adaptability to frequent changes. The unit is well-equipped with new monitoring technology, providing a healing environment with natural light.
