Job Title: RN - Surgical Transplant Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: Must have Telemetry experience Must-Have: Candidates must have Med/Surg/Telemetry experience. Experience caring for patients with Heparin drips and PCA pumps is required. Description: This is a travel RN position in a surgical transplant unit. The unit consists of 34 beds with approximately 50 staff members. Staffing levels depend on patient census. On day shifts, there is typically 1 charge RN, 2 PCTs, and 1-3 sitters if needed. The RN-to-patient ratio is maintained between 1:3-4. Night shifts have similar staffing levels. The unit is equipped with a bladder scanner, Mobilabs for lab draws, EKG machines, AccuVein devices, Virtual Sitter Cameras, W.O.Ws, Hoyer Lift, Sara Stedy Lift, and Sit to Stand Lift. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates should have stepdown or PCU experience. Experience with solid organ transplants (kidney, liver, or pancreas) is preferred. Typical procedures performed in the unit include wound and drain care (wound vac, chest tube, JP). Ideal candidates should be reliable, adaptable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
