We work within a private OBGYN group with very supportive physicians who truly understand the Midwifery Model of care. In addition Littleton Hospital supports low intervention birth which creates a team spirit with the nurses and our Midwives. South Denver OBGYN is a member of the OnPoint Medical Group Network.--RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide full-scope midwifery care including independent management of women's health care focusing primarily on pregnancy, birth, postpartum as well as family planning, gynecological and primary care of women.Practice that provides for consultation, collaborative management or referral to obstetrics, perinatology, and other specialties as indicated by client health statusManage hospital labor assessment and admission, normal and abnormal labor, cervical ripening and labor induction, postpartum care and discharge.Perform vaginal birth and laceration repair, limited 1st trimester and 3rd trimester OB ultrasounds as appropriate to training and experience, C-section first surgical assist, and IUD and subdermal contraceptive implant insertion and removal.Maintain medical records according to community standards of practice.EDUCATION:Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nurse-Midwifery or Midwifery required.LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Current CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) certificationCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) License for the State of ColoradoCurrent Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license for the State of Colorado with prescriptive authorityCPR/BLS certificationNeonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certificationDEA registrationWORK EXPEREINCE AND OTHER QAILIFICATIONS:Experience as a full scope midwife, including C-section first assist preferredPrevious training or experience with OB ultrasound preferredDemonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and acuity of the patients servedAbility to appropriately counsel and educated patients and families about complex care issuesAble to effectively and respectfully communicate and collaborate with midwife partners and others, including but not limited to physicians, management, nursing, and support staffSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities--JOB ELEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. ----Occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. --Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. --Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentMedical office and hospital settings.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification. --They are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified. --All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.BENEFITS OFFEREDHealth insurance plan options for you and your dependentsDental, and Vision, for you and your qualified dependentsCompany Paid life insuranceVoluntary options for short-term disability, and long-term disability coverageAFLAC PlansFSA optionsEligible for 401(k) after 6 months of employment with a 4% match that vests immediatelyPaid Time-Off earnedSalary: $115,000 - $130,000 / annuallyThe estimate displayed represents the typical salary range of candidates hired.
