care has never been in better hands.Job Title: Nurse Practitioner -
Urgent CareDepartment: Clinical Immediate Supervisor Title: Medical
Director and Attending PhysiciansGeneral Summary: Provide
comprehensive medical care on an independent basis Essential Job
Responsibilities:Provide acute medical care to all age
groups.Utilize evidence-based medicine principals to ensure
thorough, quality healthcare.Emphasize high-quality patient care
and exceptional customer service by example.Consult with physicians
and outside specialists as needed to assure appropriate diagnosis,
treatment and follow up is achieved.Order imaging and lab tests in
a responsible manner and within the standard of care.Provide
orientation, training and clinical supervision/guidance of new PA
and NP providers and support staff as needed.Make complete,
accurate and legible patient encounter entries.Use appropriate
referral to higher level of care whenever there are concerns for a
life threatening condition..Develop and cultivate relationships
with the patients and their families. Example of Day-to-Day
Responsibilities (accomplishes directly or through
delegation)Evaluate and treat patients while staying mindful of the
backlog of waiting patients to facilitate volume related patient
flow.Provide triage as needed for patients that exhibit severe
discomfort or the potential for a life-threatening condition and
discuss with the supervising physician.Mentor support staff
members.Maintain a positive attitude at all times toward the
patient, their family member and the staff.Ensure customer flow and
satisfaction is optimized.Address difficult patients in the clinic
as well as on the phone.Alert the Staff Nurse or Clinical Manager
of broken, missing or out of stock equipment and/or
supplies.Respond to patient feedback and resolve customer service
issues. Experience: Minimum of 1-year urgent care or emergency
medicine experience Other Requirements: ACLS/BLS certification
required; PALS highly recommended, unrestricted Colorado License,
unrestricted DEA License Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:Knowledge of policies and procedures to ensure safe and
effective patient care.Knowledge of the principles and practices of
evidence-based medicine, medication usage and the standard of care
in the community in which they are practicing. Skills: Skill in
exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, and
discretion.Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking
effective action.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective
working relationships.Skill in organizing work, delegating and
achieving goals and objectives.Skill in interacting effectively
with patients from various social and economic backgrounds.
Abilities:Ability to plan, organize, and integrate priorities and
deadlines.Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational
problems.Ability to evaluate and make recommendations for
continuous quality improvement.Ability to communicate clearly and
effectively orally and in writing.Ability to diffuse a difficult
and confrontational encounter. Equipment Operated: Standard office
equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers,
telephones, etc. Clinical life support equipment including crash
cart and its contents, defibrillator and basic airway
equipment.Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted clinical
environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be necessary
as required to facilitate uninterrupted operations of the
practice.Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting
approximately 70 percent of the day, walking or standing the
remainder. Must be able to diffuse a confrontational situation in a
