RN-Surgery Nurse Navigator - Denver, Colorado
Duties

Lead and participate in process and quality improvement initiatives to improve performance by preparing, coordinating, tracking and monitoring progress, as directed by service leaders.
Performance improvements include the veteran experience, safety, clinical efficiency, resource utilization, reducing surgery cancellations and improving access.
Responsible for the following; understanding surgical electronic health record documentation and including, but limited to VASQIP/SHEP/SAIL metrics, interpreting JC standards; interpreting VA Handbooks and Directives regarding quality management /performance improvement/patient safety issues; continued readiness for regulatory visits including OIG and NSO; collaborating with the facility Patient Safety Officer; overseeing / managing national accreditation programs and monitoring progress of reviews and follow action items to ensure completion in a timely manner.
Manages data including meeting minutes, surgical workgroup follow up, review of deaths, share points, and standard operating procedures. The incumbent serves as a resource and provides education to staff and residents.
Works collaboratively with other departments including surgery, HAS, travel, and other interventional areas.
Supports programs that promote safe and high quality surgical care, such as the Aging Veterans and others.

Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
