Qualifications Position Summary: The rehabilitation staff nurse
assists clients in adapting to an alternative lifestyle, while
providing a therapeutic environment for patients' and their
families' development. The rehabilitation staff nurse designs and
implements treatment strategies that are based on scientific
nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical,
psychosocial, and spiritual health. The rehabilitation staff nurse
works in inpatient and outpatient settings and in acute and
subacute settings. II. Position Requirements: A.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the
State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active
multistate Registered Nurse license. BLS certification through the
American Heart Association or American Red Cross. B. Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. C.
Experience: Rehabilitation, Ortho, Neuro, or TCU experience
preferred. 1-3 years medical-surgical experience preferred. D.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have effective verbal and written
communication in order to communicate in a clear, concise manner,
at times urgent manner, with staff, patients, public, physicians
and administration. Effective computer skill to input accurate,
timely patient data and also access patient data. Analytical skills
to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care delivered.
Customer service skills, team process skills. Delegation skills to
deliver safe patient care utilizing ancillary nursing staff.
Critical thinking skills that prioritize unit and patient needs.
Time management skills to effectively manage an ever changing
patient care environment. This role requires you to be fully
vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law
or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is
approved). Since 1968, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital has been in
the business of rebuilding lives and renewing hope by offering
intensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs,
tailored specifically to patients' needs. Our 42-bed licensed
rehabilitation hospital, along with our rehab unit at
Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center (PSL), specializes in
treatment of conditions such as: stroke, brain injury, neurologic
conditions, orthopedic injuries, spine injuries, amputations, and
other disabling medical conditions. Spalding hosts the only
dedicated Controlled Stimulation Unit for brain injury in the state
of Colorado. Each rehabilitation program is customized to the
individual patient's cognitive and physiological needs and can
include one or more types of therapy. As part of our mission to
