Position Summary

Provides tutoring in the Math Lab for students in general studies through Calculus III or Prob/Stat. #LI-DNI











Duties/Responsibilities

Provides tutoring in the Math Lab for students in general studies through Calculus III or Prob/Stat. Works independently. Analyzes algebraic skills not understood by each student. Determines corrective action to be taken to increase understanding: e.g. creation of supplemental ad hoc problems, etc. Provides tutoring for up to 15 students at one time. Determines skill level of students and decides on corrective actions that will enhance student's understanding of complex math problems. Requires mastery of concepts and skills taught in relevant courses.









Required Qualifications

Mathematics or Statistics majors only.
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in coursework for the major.
Have completed MTH 2420 Calculus III.









Preferred Qualifications

Have completed MTH 3210 Probability and Statistics.

Work Hours

The Math Lab is open M - F: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. Tutor hours vary.









Benefits



MSU Denver offers temporary, non-benefit eligible employees sick leave. The sick leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed a maximum of 48 hours in a calendar year.
