Job Description:
4C South is a 17 bed Med Surg unit, specializing in Orthopedic
trauma and spinal cord injury patient care. We are a fast-paced
unit and pride ourselves on excellent teamwork. Our nurses have a
1:5 patient ratio and our CNA's have an outstanding patient ratio
of 1:5. We are seeking highly ambitious, hardworking individuals
who thrive in a teamwork environment. Our mission is to focus on
each patient as an individual, caring for anyone who is in need,
regardless of their background. This unit provides a great
experience for new staff looking to hone in on their skills, as
well as tenured staff looking for a team who works cohesively for
the best patient outcomes. This unit will provide a great amount of
diverse patient population. Denver Health is one of the nation's
leading Level 1 Trauma Centers, with one of the highest survival
rates in the country for the most severe injuries. We serve those
who are uninsured, underserved, and/or those who lack access to
appropriate care. Our facility provides high-quality medical and

our team.Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the professional
nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of
professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to
provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies critical
thinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate
with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare
consumer safety and quality outcomes. Utilizes the Theory of Human
Caring and Caritas in daily practice. "Jean Watson, PhD, RN,
AHN-BC, FAAN, Founder / Director, Watson Caring Science
Institute."This role is eligible for PRN/Intermittent
differential.This role is eligible for shift differential when the
majority of the hours worked fall in a night, weekend or evening
shift.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate, detailed reports and
recordsMonitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient's
condition and vital signsDevelop and modify patient care plans as
indicated by patient's responses and conditionsModify patient
treatment plans as indicated by patient's responses and
conditionsConsult and coordinate with health care team members to
assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient careMonitor all
aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activityDirect
and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnelPrepare
patients for, and assist with examinations and treatmentsAssess the
needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify
potential health or safety problemsInstruct individuals and
families on health education and disease prevention and after
careAdminister nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or
disabled patientsMedication administration, documentation and
reassessmentPromote positive patient experienceOther job duties as
