Job Description:
Job Summary:Under close supervision of an RN or Charge Nurse,
provides direct patient care in accordance with established plans.
Assists RNs and Care Providers with procedures, medication
administration, phlebotomy, and limited laboratory
procedures.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of appropriate
charting procedures. Interpersonal communication skills to
communicate with hospital staff and diverse patient population.
Clerical skills. Ability to assist patient with personal hygiene.
Ability to transport patients, specimens and supplies to and from
various areas as necessary. Knowledge of IV introduction. Ability
to monitor IVs on assigned patients once IV certification is
received. Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the
licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for
Licensed Practical Nurse required.Experience: Typically, one year
directly related experience.Credentials:
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse License in the state of
Colorado or qualifying compact state required.
- IV Certification.
- Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider
Certification/CPR from American Heart Association or Red Cross
required.Location: Denver City and County JailsShift : 6am - 6:30pm
or 6pm - 6:30am.Work Type: Intermittent Pay Range:Minimum:
21.15Midpoint: 25.53Maximum: 30.24****Plus generous PRN
