Registered Nurse - Dialysis Dialysis Nurses are responsible for overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians. RESPONSIBILITIES --- Checking and recording patients' vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment. --- Primes dialyzer and bloodlines. --- Ensuring that hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly. --- Monitoring patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions. --- Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish. --- Cannulates accesses and cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters. --- Secures, analyzes, and reports lab work. --- Preparing and updating nursing care plans. --- Promptly notifying the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments. --- Working with the Dialysis Technicians to ensure that dialysis machines and equipment are set up/cleaned correctly. --- Educating patients on dialysis treatment options, kidney disease management, as well as suitable nutrition and exercise regimens. --- Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Training: --- State license to practice nursing. --- Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required. --- Proven experience working as a Dialysis Nurse. --- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. --- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not required. Experience: One year dialysis experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: --- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills. --- The ability to operate dialysis machines. --- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations. --- Patient and compassionate ABOUT US PAM Health is committed to being the most trusted source for post-acute services in every community it serves by utilizing experienced and dedicated staff to provide high quality patient care and customer service.
