Regional Investigational Drug Pharmacy Specialist you need to know
- Maintains responsibility for clinical investigational drug
trials. Monitors pharmacy activities, on a daily basis, to ensure
adherence to study protocols and dispensing procedures. Assists in
ensuring the pharmacy department participation in all clinical
trials which involve drugs.
- Reviews protocols for clinical investigational drug trials for
designated region. 3. Liaises with principal investigators and/or
trial coordinators/research assistants to establish pharmacy's role
and to implement dispensing and compounding procedures. Develops
investigation medication and pharmacy-related standard operating
procedures (SOPs). 4. Directs the technical build of protocols by
working with Epic teams, pharmacy, and clinical staff. Participates
in the development of software programs designed to facilitate
management of clinical investigational drug trials.
- Communicates with, and trains staff anticipated to participate
in any aspect of the clinical investigational drug trial.--
- Maintains responsibility for the management of the inventory
for clinical investigational drug trials; orders, replaces and
returns study materials, as required. Monitors pharmacy activities,
on a daily basis, to ensure adherence to proper inventory record
- Provides drug information to physicians, nurses and other
health care professionals, as related to clinical investigational
trial drugs. Consults with other pharmacy personnel, to obtain
information/expertise in support of investigational drug trials.
Provides education to patients and their families.--
- Provides accurate, efficient and safe dispensing of medication.
Assesses hazard potential of investigational agents.
- Collects and documents workload measurement statistics;
provides other data, as required. Completes reports including
protocol deviations, incident reports, adverse drug reaction
- Monitors and assures security of narcotics and controlled drugs
in accordance with hospital policy. Your experience. We hire

- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of
Pharmacy or PharmD, required.
- Current Colorado or Montana Pharmacist Licensure or eligibility
for reciprocity in state of practice, required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience coordinating investigational
drug research, required.
- Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
- BCOP (Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacist),
- Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 Pharmacy Residency, preferred.
