Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.The Wholesale Control (WC) organization serves as the front line risk management organization within Wholesale Banking supporting the businesses with risk strategy, implementation, and execution. The Wholesale Control team is accountable to assess and effectively manage risks across all risk types and Wholesale businesses delivering an integrated view of risks, producing a sustainable control environment, and instilling a culture of strong risk management. The team is responsible to identify and assess risks, design and implement controls, and monitor the controls to ensure they are working effectively. Wholesale Control interfaces with Independent Risk Management and Audit to drive comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Wholesale. The Wholesale Control Self-Assurance (WCSA) functions serves as the front line control testing group for key areas of risk across all lines of business within Wholesale, domestic and international operations, and across multiple risk disciplines. The group is responsible for assessing risks, testing the design and execution of key controls, and performing monitoring to ensure processes and controls are working as expected to manage risks across Wholesale. Wholesale Control Assurance interfaces with Independent Risk Management, Audit and the regulators to assess comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Wholesale. The RoleThis position will report to the Governance and Quality Control Leader within the Wholesale Control Assurance group. This role will be responsible for leading and developing a team in managing the development, distribution, periodic updates and tracking of recruiting, learning and development for the Wholesale Control Self Assurance team. In addition, the role will be instrumental in the development and continuous improvement to the onboarding process within the group. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of quality assurance / audit technics to ensure training materials are appropriately designed in order to drive consistency amongst the various self-assurance teams. Successful candidates will be articulate, and possess strong problem-solving abilities in addition to strong presentation and interpersonal skills. This role requires a collaborative leader capable of identifying and initiating needed action and managing change in a fast-paced environment as well as strong planning and execution skills. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.Individual Responsibilities

  • Build, lead and develop a dynamic team to support the Recruiting, Learning & Development and Onboarding of WCSA team members
  • Work with the leadership team within WCSA to provide support and build consistency within the recruiting efforts
  • Develop and support the new hire onboarding/orientation process to help team members feel connected, supported and know where they fit in the organization
  • Develop and support the Learning and Development program to ensure team members have the requisite knowledge to be successful
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in the onboarding and learning process
  • Manage staff training and development plan expectations and track completion
  • Collaborate and partner with cross functional groups to ensure WCSA s training program complies with Wholesale and Corporate guidelines
  • Create and maintain job-aids as needed to help drive consistencyAs a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:
    • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
    • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

      Required Qualifications
      • 8+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 8+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 4+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
      • 3+ years of management experience

        • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
        • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
        • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
        • A BS/BA degree or higher

          • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and update training material as the WCSA team evolves
          • Background in audit, testing or Quality Assurance leadership roles
          • Strong, proactive leadership and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
          • Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, with various levels of management, including executives
          • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and subject matter expertise to effectively train and develop other team members
          • Demonstrated ability to ensure high quality output from self and team
          • Change agent and creative thinker, able to initiate action and manage change in a rapidly-evolving environment
          • Strong relationship management skills and organizational savvy
          • Strong track record of training quality assurance/controls design/risk management/audit techniques
