Job Summary
The Sales Manager will need to build up a sales process and organization from scratch. Contract R&D services are being sold to a wide variety of sophisticated customers with unique requirements. Enterprise software sales are just beginning. Effective communication and collaboration with scientific, software, marketing and management personnel will be essential. The position reports to senior management. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

About the Company
RadiaSoft conducts $3M annually (and growing) in contract R&D for a wide range of customers, including the federal government, national laboratories, universities and companies. RadiaSoft scientists and engineers develop Python, C/C++ and Fortran codes to simulate physical processes. We also use high-performance community codes and commercial products as necessary. Our core competencies include: particle accelerator modeling and design for medical, energy and science applications; theoretical and computational studies of nanoscale and mesoscale materials; machine learning to improve experimental diagnostics and solve scientific problems; laser-plasma and beam-plasma interactions; computational fluid dynamics and MHD; beam interactions with matter and the resulting activation; radiation shielding design; thermal/structural/vacuum modeling and design; X-ray optics; distributed and parallel computing; and cloud computing. RadiaSoft is developing Sirepo, a framework for browser-based GUIs that bring scientific computing to the cloud, http://sirepo.com. Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities and duties of the Sales Manager include the following: serve as primary sales contact; negotiate sales contracts and close deals; plan and execute trade show booths and events; anticipate opportunities to develop relationships with new and existing clients; generate and track leads in collaboration with other personnel; manage CRM and sales tracking tools. Approximately 25% of time is expected to involve travel. A full time position is available; however, part-time applicants will be considered.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful applicant will have a masters degree in science, engineering or computer science, with at least 5 years of sales experience at a small business. A successful track record of software or contract R&D sales is required. Other desirable skills and experience include: strong public speaking skills; familiarity with data analysis and reporting; experience with computer aided engineering products; experience with scientific software.
