This leadership role exists to drive success in retaining existing business and developing new business nationwide. The incumbent is responsible for strategic growth and development through effective business community relationships, marketing, advertising, sales, and communication efforts. In collaboration with the executive team, the incumbent will lead the development and execution of a strategic business development plan for the organization. He/she is expected to bring analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills, as well as a results orientation, to the role. RESPONSIBILITIES : In collaboration with the EVP - NCO, the incumbent leads the development of strategic business goals for the group, including the supporting marketing, sales, advertising and public relations objectives, and assures that these result in profitable client retention and growth outcomes. Establishes measurable outcomes and assumes primary accountability for achieving these outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Monitors progress in meeting incremental goals and implements the necessary and timely course changes to assure successful results. Under the general guidance of the EVP - NCO and executive team, develops and manages a cost-effective Business Development budget, procuring and allocating the necessary resources to support the achievement of goals and objectives. Monitors expenses and addresses any need for improved efficiencies. Collaborates with the EVP of NCO and VPs to assess contract proposals, develop responses to RFPs/RFIs, lead contract negotiations, and build pro-formas for projected growth. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with existing clients; addresses client needs and directs timely problem resolution in collaboration with the EVPs and VPs as necessary. Identifies opportunities for new service offerings and new geographic markets; assesses these opportunities and pursues viable leads to their fruition in consultation with the appropriate organization leaders. Establishes effective relationships with prospective clients in alignment with strategic growth goals and objectives. Assists with planning and implementing sales exhibits and attends industry trade shows that align with targeted growth and retention objectives. Keeps informed of new products, services and general information of interest and relevance to customers. Checks on competitive activity and uses findings to develop new methods of attaining new accounts. Partners SF groups and other stakeholders to engage members of the broader management and production teams in business development, marketing, sales and public relations endeavors. Prepares various presentations for the organization’s marketing, promotion, education, or communication purposes; applies skills in using a variety of audio-visual software; delivers presentations to target audiences as required. Initiates and/or participates in continuous process improvement endeavors to assure the delivery of superior client services and to support client retention and growth. Promotes effective communication related to business development strategies, tactics, and outcomes, corporate updates, shared content, and conventional and electronic mailings QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 10 plus years’ experience in the insurance adjusting industry and 5 years’ of experience in a leadership role, including progressively responsible management level responsibilities. Executive level business acumen and budgeting, workforce planning and development, coaching, and leadership abilities. Advanced knowledge and skills in strategic business development, marketing, advertising, sales and public relations functions; significant experience in strategic planning and execution and realizing retention and growth goals; Strong management skills, including strategic thinking and planning, delegation and execution; analyzing, interpreting, synthesizing, prioritizing, and reporting pertinent information. Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make decisions which are timely and in the best interest of the overall organization. Keen service orientation and ability to grasp and respond to varying and multiple client needs. Ability to interpret policies, contracts and other written technical information. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships within all functional departments. Demonstrated track record of creative and innovative thinking. Problem-solving; sound judgment and objectivity. Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and persuasion abilities. Exemplary written and oral communication skills, including skills in client development and retention and marketing. Expertise in understanding industry trends, impact of external and internal forces impacting on business planning and execution, and competitive environment. Trustworthiness, integrity, and personal accountability and adherence to the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct. Unwavering commitment to the organization and its success. Highly proficient with the MS Office suite, CRMs, and industry related database tools.
