Infrastructure Services is responsible for engineering, managing,
and supporting Academy District 20 enterprise infrastructure. The
role manages the Infrastructure Services team and outsourced
managed service providers responsible for the systems, network,
including WAN/LAN and Internet connectivity, remote access,
security, storage, virtualization, cloud services, data center,
voice, mobility, disaster recovery and business continuity. The
position is responsible for providing oversight, implementing
appropriate controls, and performing regular and effective reviews
of all technical aspects, including operational support
activities.The following statements are illustrative of the

- Assesses project issues and identifies solutions to meet
productivity, quality, and goals all while ensuring team members
have the necessary tools and skills
- Assist with development of operational budget for the
Infrastructure Services department, including vendor and contract
management
- Builds organizational talent by creating a learning and
development environment to engage and retain direct reports
- Collaborates with all stakeholders to develop, implement, and
communicate district-wide policies, procedures, guidelines, and
programs regarding the support and safety of the district network
and hardware platforms
- Collaborates with the Application and Data Services, District
Technology Technician Supervisors, Digital Integration Services,
and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to determine technical
direction, design, implementation, and support to infrastructure
and associated resources
- Collaborates with the CIO and DTT Supervisors on configuration
and roll-out of the district provided 1:1 program
- Demonstrates leadership expertise to establish strategic
direction, as well as significant depth of technical expertise in
current technology trends, including systems, storage, network,
cloud infrastructure, security operations, and automation
technologies among others
- Ensures compliance with specific education requirements such as
Colorado Student Data Privacy, CIPA, COPPA and FERPA
- Establishes yearly department goals that help the district meet
its mission and strategic priorities
- Fosters and supports a productive environment and directly
assists department personnel to resolve technical and functional
problems
- Implements a district network security strategy and proactively
monitors networks to prevent security breaches or threats
- Leadership and management of Infrastructure Network Engineers,
Security Network Specialist, PC Network Tech, and System
Administrators
- Leads the enterprise infrastructure with high availability,
maximum support delivery model including systems, network, access
control and identity management, security, storage, virtualization,
cloud services, data center, voice, mobility, and disaster
recovery
- Management and scheduled maintenance of shared infrastructure
deployments and patching schedules
- Manages and troubleshoots physical security camera system
hardware and upgrades
- Manages infrastructure project activities and timelines for all
approved projects including initiation, planning, execution,
implementation, and ongoing support
- Manages the design, configuration, and maintenance of the wide
area and local area networks(fiber?)
- Manages the district-wide phone system
- Manages the district-wide wi-fi infrastructure
- Monitors and troubleshoots data communications and fiber
infrastructure between the district and all outside service
providers
- Oversees data center operations including power, cooling,
networking, external connectivity, cabling, physical security,
environmental controls, and general datacenter facilities
- Provides input and advice to CIO during annual budget
development and monitoring
- Provisions hardware and software as required for business
needs
- Researches, develops, and implements programs to ensure
widespread use of best practices
- Serves as an information resource, assists in problem solving,
and provides technology expertise to schools, departments,
committees, the Board of Education, and administrator groups
- Supervises the documentation of disaster recovery procedures
for enterprise-wide systems
- Understands and communicates requirements to appropriate team
members and establish clear ownership, project timelines, and
defined service level agreements for project tasksKnowledge,

- Ability to analyze project requirements for impact on systems
and integration dependencies
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, technical
information concerning assessment matters to a lay public

leveraging technical understanding of current infrastructure
technology, including networks, unified communication, data
centers, and business applications, as well as best practice
standards for their use
- Experience working in or managing a smaller, fast-paced, broad
focus IT organization with a history of success building highly
productive teams
- Knowledge of and experience with system administration tasks on
supported enterprise systems
- Knowledge of school-based processes and operations helpful
- Proficiency in the use and application of the Microsoft Office
Suite and 0365
- Proven ability to provide high-energy leadership and contribute
to the success of the Information Technology Team
- Strong infrastructure technology experience with an
understanding of how it translates to service delivery and business
enablement
- Strong network experience, including design, topology, routers,
switches, firewalls, load balancers, security, redundancy
- Strong storage solutions, virtualization, security, project
management, service-oriented architecture, service and hardware
monitoring, SLA and change control, Disaster Recovery, and
maintenance scheduling experience
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training as required
- Working knowledge of ITIL Process FrameworksWork Environment:
