  • Develop and execute strategies that drive patient access and enhance TBCT's global impact.
  • Build partnerships with major payers, public institutions, and other stakeholders to support innovative therapies.
  • Influence healthcare policies and trends, ensuring TBCT's long-term success in the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Lead a high-performing, diverse team to achieve strategic goals collaboratively and effectively.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities to make a meaningful global impact.Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement integrated market access and reimbursement strategies to support product launches and lifecycle management.
    • Shape and influence public policy to create favorable environments for market access.
    • Engage with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies to advocate for policies supporting patient access.
    • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Interpret key developments in government health, economic, trade, science and innovation policy, identifying opportunities and threats to our business and developing appropriate plans to influence and engage in policy development in line with Terumo BCT's strategic and commercial objectives.
    • Identify opportunities from a health policy, healthcare funding or governmental initiatives perspective that may be beneficial to Terumo and guide senior leadership on how to engage in these initiatives.Team and Stakeholder Management:
      • Lead a diverse global team, fostering collaboration across regions.
      • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, payers, and industry associations.
      • Guide senior-level networking with public institutions.Operational Management:
        • Oversee budget planning, annual planning, alignment with regions and business areas and management for the access and policy team.
        • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
        • Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategies and decisions.
        • Internal knowledge building: grow internal knowledge related to government affairs, market access and public policy by organizing internal education sessions.
        • Communication: develop and maintain clear, concise, and compelling communication materials to support government affairs and market access initiatives. This includes position papers, briefing documents, and public relations efforts.Market Access and Reimbursement:
          • Expand access to TBCT's portfolio and remove barriers to care.
          • Lead negotiations with local authorities to secure optimal access and pricing.
          • Provide access and policy insights during strategic planning.
          • Adapt global value dossiers and Health Economics models, leveraging local data for effective submissions.
          • Ensure timely and effective submission of reimbursement requests.Public Policy Advocacy:
            • Collaborate with industry associations, think tanks, and advocacy groups to promote policies benefiting patient access.
            • Represent TBCT at public forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
            • Educate policymakers about the role of blood components as essential medicines.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation:Advanced degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Public Policy, or a related field or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in government affairs, market access, and public policy within the pharmaceutical, medical technology, or biotech industry. Key qualifications include:
              • Over 12 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry with a focus on market access, government affairs, or public policy.
              • Substantial knowledge of EU and/or US governmental and reimbursement processes. Knowledge concerning other regions e.g. China, Brazil, India, SSA, Japan is an asset.
              • Experience with Health Economics models and clinical-economic dossier development.
              • Knowledge of blood, plasma, or cell therapy is a significant advantage.
              • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
              • Demonstrated success in advancing patient access in complex environments.Skills:
                • Proven leadership and team management experience.
                • Strong understanding of healthcare systems and regulatory environments across regions.
                • Ability to work within a matrixed organization and engage effectively with cross-functional teams.
                • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy abilities. High level of verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts.-Or-An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.LOCATIONLakewood, Colorado or Brussels, Belgium - Open to candidates willing to relocate to the office in their respective region.TRAVEL
                  • There will be an occasional requirement to work outside of normal business hours, consistent with other Director-level positions.
