The PM is adept at managing projects across various disciplines, holding overall responsibility for successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects. Additionally, the PM serves as a mentor to senior engineering design staff.Primary Responsibilities:Leadership and Mentorship:Lead and mentor a team of professional and technical staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Business Development and Marketing:Drive marketing and business development efforts for land development and/or public civil engineering projects, actively contributing to the growth of the firm.Civil Engineering Design:Direct and perform all aspects of civil engineering design, including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control. Projects may encompass land development, roadway/intersection design, hydrology/hydraulic stormwater modeling, and more.Submission Package Preparation:Prepare comprehensive submission packages, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and facilitate the agency review/approval process effectively.Project Monitoring and Control:Monitor and control project progress, staffing, budgets, and methods of analysis. Keep clients informed of progress, budget, work status, and address challenges proactively.Key Client Management:Manage key client accounts within the team, serving as the primary point of contact for key clients. Ensure a strong project team and foster lasting client relationships.Team Leadership and Efficiency:Lead project management transitions within the team and promote efficiencies in producing quality work.Mentorship and Professional Development:Mentor staff within the team on project management best practices and contribute to the professional development of team members.Experience, Education, and Certifications:Educational Background:Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, or landscape architecture.Professional Experience:Possess a minimum of 10 years of work experience in civil engineering with a demonstrated background in leadership or management.Technical Knowledge:Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of civil engineering design, regulatory/permitting processes, and successful project approvals. Proficiency in stormwater, utilities, paving, geometric roadway design, grading, and earthwork is essential.Project Management and Business Development:Showcase demonstrated project management and business development experience, including nurturing existing clients and developing new multi-disciplinary opportunities.Communication and Relationship Building:Exhibit exceptional leadership and communication skills, building trust, rapport, and effective working relationships both internally within a multidisciplinary team and externally.Community Involvement:Display an affinity for community involvement and visible local engagement to enhance the company's services and presence in the region.Physical and Mental DemandsAbility to lift up to twenty poundsAbility to sit for extended periods of timeAbility to learn internet-based software/appsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Outlook, and ExcelBasic math skillsAbility to manage many requests and situations simultaneouslyInterested in hearing more?
