Job Title: Director of Facility OperationsDepartment: OperationsReports To: General ManagerSupervises: Electrical, Engineering, Grounds, Safety & Sustainability, SecurityFLSA Status: Salaried, ExemptCompensation: Compensation is dependent on experience and ranges from $110,000 - $120,000General Summary:Direct and Manages the Facility Operations workforce and oversee all aspects of facility operations to ensure attainment of business goals and objectives. Tasked with the operation, maintenance, preservation and improvement of the physical structure, systems, equipment and grounds of the convention center. Responsible for directing the activities of the Electrical, Engineering, Grounds, Safety & Sustainability, and Security.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains and evaluates all facility operations managerial staff. Oversees the hiring, training and evaluation of all facility operations personnel.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and standards to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Establish personnel, budget, equipment, and time programs to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Establish yearly operating, capital and equipment, and capital maintenance budgets for the department. Control expenditures of allocated funds. Provide cost center analysis with means and methods to accomplish yearly operating budget goals. Provide analyses and feasibility for establishment of revenue centers.
  • Initiate and complete CCC capital maintenance and capital improvement projects. Plan and direct outside vendor/contractor work to assure compliance with business needs, operational needs, and safety requirements.
  • Plan and develop six-year and yearly capital improvement programs for the CCC.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections for facilities and facilities systems maintenance programs for the most efficient use of man-power, budget, equipment, and time.
  • Establish priorities for major systems repair and maintenance.
  • Negotiates contracts and agreements with suppliers, promoters and tenants for necessary activities and services at the facility.
  • Administer organized labor contracts.
  • Implements procedures within the Facility Operations departments to establish and maintain quality and service standards that contribute to a positive image and safe, efficient, sustainable operations.
  • Collaborate with other directors, review, study, plan, organize, formulate, and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the complex within the framework of ASMG goals and objectives.

    • Bachelor's degree in area applicable to facility management, resource management, or the convention/entertainment industries
    • Five to seven years experience in facility management or supervision, required
    • Three to five years supervisory experience, requiredSkills and Abilities:
      • Working knowledge of trades
      • Working knowledge of convention/trade show industry
      • Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills among all levels of staff and clientele, required
      • Ability to speak, understand, and read standard English, required;
      • Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team
      • Perform leadership role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities
      • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills
      • High degree of judgement, discretion and confidentiality
      • Provide customer service in a professional considerate manner
      • Excellent record of dependability and reliability
      • Customer Service experienceComputer Skills:
