Job Description:
ACIS accredits, supports, and advances the interests of Colorado
independent schools. The Denver Waldorf School is a Pre-K-12 school
of around 300 students seeking a qualified candidate for the
position of Development Director. The development Director
implements The Denver Waldorf School's fundraising efforts in
alignment with the strategic priorities of the Board of Trustees,
Administration, and The College Leadership Council. The Development
Director focuses on both short and long-term financial health of
the school by cultivating positive relationships with the
community, meeting the needs of the Annual Fund, and implementing
strategic fundraising campaigns as necessary. Annual Fund goals
represent between 5% and 6% of the school's operating budget each
year. This position calls for a data-driven, entrepreneurial,
dynamic individual who leads in major gifts fundraising, donor
cultivation, and events management. Responsibilities include, but
are not limited to: --- Solicits average gifts of $1,000 and above
and major gifts ($10,000+), prioritizing donors with high
capacity--- Markets Annual Giving campaign to attain 100% DWS
parent participation: creates all campaign content by writing and
coordinating appeal letters and emails, social media posts, and
other PR as needed--- Stewards and cultivates relationships with
donors and potential donors--- Plans and implements stewardship
events--- Adapts strategies in response to current trends in
independent school fundraising and philanthropy in general---
Oversees gift reporting, acknowledgement of gifts, and year-end tax
documents--- Works with contracted grant prospector to identify
sources of support; and works with contracted grant writer to apply
for funding--- Provides guidance and recommendations to School
Director, Board of Trustees, Development Committee Members, other
leadership, and volunteers supporting fundraising efforts ---
Provides opportunities for School Director to engage in high level
donation asks in conjunction with donor interests--- Execute one or
two fundraising events per year that are meaningful and relevant to
the community Data analysis and reporting--- Utilizes donor
database (Bloomerang) to provide accurate record keeping--- Reports
to the School Director monthly on campaign progress; and twice
yearly with dashboard data to the Board of Trustees--- Coordinates
the creation of an Annual Report at the end of each fiscal year---
Develops, manages, and analyzes fundraising projections and
budget--- Provides accurate documentation of gifts for yearly
audit--- Ensures foundation and grant commitments are upheld and
reported accuratelyCommunity relations, Communications, and
Marketing--- Develops and maintains strong relationships between
school and core community, parents, and extended community
(grandparents, friends, and alumni) by supporting and attending
school events and through individual connections--- Work with
marketing committee to ensure there is a connection and
communication strategy for DWS marketing and development messages
(brand and feel of school)--- Create all PR and marketing materials
as they pertain to philanthropic events and campaigns --- Advance
the organization through managing internal communications processes
of Weekly Update and Parent Square to ensure families are receiving
updated and mission aligned communicationsOther responsibilities---
Collaborates with Finance Director to ensure development numbers
are accurate for budget and accounting--- Participates in annual
and 5-year budget process as appropriate--- Plan and lead yearly
Board Orientation in conjunction with School Director--- Manages
policies related to fundraising in conjunction with School and
Finance Directors The ideal candidate will have: --- Excellent

confidential informationEducation and Experience:--- Bachelor's
degree from four-year college or university required, advanced
degree preferred --- Understanding of Waldorf education and
curriculum--- 3-5 years fundraising experience, with preference
toward independent school experienceThis is a full-time position
and pay for this position ranges between $55,500 - $69,000 per
year, depending on experience. Available benefits include Health,
