Job DescriptionSUMMARY: As a member of the local plant management team, this position provides direction to activities of all associates involved in the production, maintenance, and shipping. The Plant Manager is responsible for developing our people, continuously improving our processes, and aligning the production function with the Company's core values, its commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and overall strategic direction. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety – Provide leadership and guidance to location management for the acceptance, maintenance, and enforcement of Trussway's Safety Program
  • High Performance – Coach, encourage, and reward managers to consistently perform at a high level and with a sense of urgency
  • Integrity & Honesty – Demonstrate and enforce full compliance to rules, regulations, and standards in a candid, truthful and ethical manner
  • Focus – Perform and lead managers with the constancy of purpose to meet Trussway's strategic objectives.
  • Teamwork – Encourage, leverage, and coordinate efforts of management teams to work together to solve problems and sustain improvements to meet organizational goals POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Promotes and incorporates safety as the prime element of the plant culture, operations, and behaviors.
    • Delivers strong operations and financial results by setting a clear vision for the plant, involves and engages internal/external customers in this vision, and leads and manages the plant in achieving and sustaining desired results.
    • Manages the day-to-day plant operations to deliver quality products with maximum efficiency.
    • Relentlessly pursues improvement through the application of lean concepts and tools.
    • Implements company policies, principles, and values and ensures buy-in at the plant level.
    • Develops, mentors, trains, and coaches direct reports. Monitors and measures performance reports on project status and operational metrics.
    • Performs other job duties or special projects as required COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
      • Ability to lead, motivate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external constituents
      • Understanding of financial management principles and practices
      • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. Includes strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with senior management, employees, customers, and the general public
      • Requires a solid operations leadership background, preferably with a strong background in Lean transformation
        • Ability to plan actions and implement

        • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications, primarily Microsoft Office Products and Outlook DIRECT REPORTSProduction Shift Supervisor(s)MaintenancePlant support personnel and shippingThis position works closely with internal and external customers, to ensure effective collaboration among all the parties that work together to meet our customers' requirements. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
          • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or business-related field, or: a two-year degree with applicable work history. Minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
          • 5+ years of plant management experience with responsibility for achieving the operational and financial targets
          • Demonstrated management experience leading 100+ associates in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of logistics, maintenance function management, and customer relations.
          • Demonstrated continuous improvement impact through the application of lean methodologies
          • Truss manufacturing experience is a plus LANGUAGE SKILLS
            • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.
            • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general and technical procedures or government regulations in English.
