Director of Operations and FinanceSave Our Youth (SOY)The Company:Save Our Youth is a faith-based youth development organization connecting young people to hope through long-term mentoring relationships. We collaborate with individuals and groups in the community to increase awareness of kids' resilience and to support their success. Save Our Youth mentors bring experience, compassion, long-term commitment and intentionality to provide kids a caring advocate by their side.The Position:The Director of Finance & Operations (DFO) will oversee all internal operations of SOY, including finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration, and IT. The DFO will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making, execution of the SOY strategic plan, and operations as SOY continues to expand its programmatic reach throughout the Denver Metro Area and beyond.Responsibilities:Operations Management

  • Complete oversight and maintenance of the current 10,000 Square Foot facility.
  • Interacting with and managing vendors and maintenance outsourcing including custodial, IT, maintenance, grounds, insurance, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in managing and purchasing insurance.
  • Manage and oversee the administrative team.Human Resources, Technology and Administration
    • Further develop SOY's human resources and administration, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting.
    • Ensure that hiring processes are consistent and streamlined.
    • Establish and manage a comprehensive training program to educate employees regarding staff tools, policies, and procedures.
    • Work closely and transparently with all external partners including third-party vendors and consultants.
    • Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
    • Contribute to a team approach by accomplishing other duties as assigned/needed.Financial Management
      • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
      • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
      • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status.
      • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
      • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
      • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual.
      • Create reports and models as needed to clearly communicate historical information, trends and forecasts.
      • Oversee and manage outsourcing of bookkeeping, payroll, and week to week financial duties.Requirements:

        • Bachelor's degree in related field required. MBA/CPA Certification preferred.
        • At least seven to 10 years of overall professional experience; ideally six-plus years of broad financial and operations management experience
        • The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area, and has preferably overseen a human resources function previously.
        • Ability to translate financial concepts to - and to effectively collaborate with - programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
        • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
        • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
        • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, thorough understanding of strategic development and set strategic goals with accompanying action plans.
        • Ability to work collaboratively with staff in a positive and supportive environment.
        • Proficient (or ability to become proficient) in Salesforce CRM.
        • Proficient in MS Office and quickbooks.Working Conditions:
          • Must have reliable transportation with proof of insurance and an acceptable driving record. Ability to drive to multiple locations in a day.
          • Must be willing to work within a flexible schedule as needed.
          • Primarily in the office, especially early on in the role.Salary + Benefits:
            • Starting Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
            • Benefits: Health & Dental - 100% covered by SOY for employee (Kaiser & Delta Dental); dependents may be added at employee cost
            • PTO: 2 weeks PTO 1st year, 3 weeks 2nd year, 11 paid holidays (includes employee's birthday each year), Paid office closures: Dec 24th - Jan 1st annually, 2nd Friday of each month for individual spiritual retreat
            • Other: 3% Simple IRA match after 1 yearJob Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
