Job Description:

The Assistant Vice President - Non-Agency Underwriting and Due Diligence Manager position will be responsible for managing a team of product and credit specialists and due diligence analysts. The role will involve managing day-to-day loan file assignments, workloads, throughput and management tracking and reporting. In addition to managing the team, this individual will be the direct underwriting and credit resource for a handful of correspondent sellers. The individual in this role will be the primary liaison between the external due diligence vendors and Bayview for non-agency correspondent loans. This role will have certain authorities to approve single loan exception/variance requests from correspondent sellers and will report to the VP - Non-Agency Credit and Product Specialist. The individual in this role will be expected to collaborate with Bayview risk and credit policy, operations, IT and external counterparties in an effort to continuously improve upon the processes currently in place. Problem solving and ability to identify workflow efficiency opportunities will be critical skillsets for this role. This individual will have strong relationship building skills and will be comfortable engaging in detailed discussions around product eligibility, guidelines and risk. This position requires the individual to possess an ability to work in a fast paced environment and to articulate complex underwriting and risk concerns concisely and accurately.-- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES --- Manage day-to-day workload for credit and product specialists and due diligence analysts. --- Be the main point of contact for loan level condition clearing and exception/variance requests for certain correspondent sellers. --- Act as the primary liaison between the external due diligence vendors and Bayview for non-agency correspondent loans. --- Identify workflow efficiency opportunities and collaborate with Bayview resources to implement changes.-- --- Promote a culture of innovation by continuously challenging the staff to seek out process improvement initiatives, automation enhancements and idea generation to ensure the transactions are being run optimally. --- Responsible for guiding workflows and monitoring the work output of staff. --- Provide leadership and direction to staff and ensures that development of employees and teams is occurring. --- Exercise exemplary corporate citizenship including strict adherence to compliance requirements and Bayview's tenets --- Other responsibilities as assigned. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES --- Proven ability to manage a team of underwriting and production resources-- --- In depth knowledge of agency guidelines and market standard non-agency parameters. --- Well versed in non-agency jumbo, QM and non-QM products. --- Experience underwriting / evaluating complex self-employed borrowers. --- Fluent in details of product eligibility and exception analysis.-- --- Strong communication skills with both internal and external constituents. --- Ability to socialize and engage internal and external groups to create efficiency improvements whether IT driven or other. --- The ability to meet deadlines. --- Eagerness to be in a dynamic environment and learn and expand responsibilities. --- Ability to work both independently and within a team while focused on accuracy, efficiency, and delivery of product. --- Willingness to be part of a team that focuses on time-sensitive products with dynamic views and goals. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE --- Minimum of 10 years of related experience. --- Strong background in MS Office.
