Denver, CO 80246 We seek a visionary Associate Director to lead our Early Learning School (ELS) where we believe in every child's ability to learn, grow, and develop within a positive environment.Our youngest generation sparks creativity and imagination for each member of our community - they teach us to respect one another and to take pleasure in the little things. The Associate Director is expected to display excellent leadership and engage in meaningful relationships with our preschool community members and teachers. The Associate Director should embrace community life, a progressive approach to education, and the belief that children are strong, competent citizens. This position is supported by the Assistant Director of Education, the Admissions Assistant, Inclusion Specialist, and Operations Specialist in the school and supervised by the General Manager of Camps & Early Learning School. Our ideal Associate Director candidate is both a leader and a manager who can articulate and pitch a compelling vision, is a team player, and has a growth-mindset, both for students as well as for our teachers. This position requires a hands-on leader who makes sure that the school is professionally-run, customer-responsive, consistent fiscally-responsible enterprise. Minimum Qualifications: Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Ensure all performance documentation takes place in a timely and accurate manner and stored appropriately in HR.
    • Licensing, Safety & Operations: Inspire, lead, and implement an ELS structure that supports a high-quality learning experience. Work with the General Manager ELS administrative team, and teachers to design and implement important decisions and policies. Create a culture of shared responsibility and partnership to advance the vision of the ELS and the JCC. Work with Assistant Director of Education to create and maintain ongoing opportunities for all staff members' professional growth. Work with Administrative Team to provide ELS staff with materials, opportunities, and resources necessary for the successful execution of their jobs. Coordinate staff hiring and Paycom on-boarding. Supervise Operations Specialist. Oversee and adhere to facility safety standards and Colorado State Licensing standards to maximize all children's health, safety, and security while they are in our care at school. Ensure adherence and full compliance of Colorado State Licensing, such as: Completing licensing reports to submit to State Licensing Representative. Creating regular staff trainings around compliance of Licensing standards. Working directly with classroom teachers to complete regular licensing check-lists and adjust classroom environment, as needed. Completing monthly visits with the nurse consultant. Coordinating medical administration trainings and delegations with nurse consultant, as needed. Work with Admissions Assistant to collect and upload up-to-date student files and adhere to full State Licensing compliance. Work with Operations Specialist to comply with State Licensing standards in out-of-classroom spaces such as hallways, shared spaces, and playgrounds and with building repairs, as needed. Support compliance around health and safety during COVID-19.
      • Communication, Organization, and Dependability: Use verbal and written communication to share ideas, articulate values, and advance the vision of the ELS and the JCC. Present ideas and information clearly and effectively to inform appropriate constituencies regarding pertinent issues and changes. Work with General Manager to identify marketing needs to grow enrollment and work collaboratively with the JCC marketing department to utilize resources effectively. Responsible for updating website information for the ELS so it is current and accurate. Regularly monitor enrollment to determine whether added recruitment efforts are necessary.
        • Financial and Business Management: Responsible for day-to-day budget management and purchasing oversight in accordance with the annual budget. Oversee that terms of ELS parent contracts are consistently upheld. Oversee accurate time and attendance records for ELS staff and responsible for payroll approvals. Responsible for Denver Preschool Program Reporting. Work with Admissions Assistant and General Manager to implement admissions policy that provides the appropriate evaluation of interested students and their families.
          • Community Partnerships & Relationships Serve as an advocate and spokesperson for the ELS and all stakeholders. Work with General Manager to manage organizational and inter-departmental partnerships Embedded throughout each of the above duties and responsibilities is a focus on building trusting relationships. Creating relationships with children, teachers, parents, and caregivers in order to know and understand the pulse of the school community. Cultivate a culture of shared responsibility and partnership to advance the vision of the ELS and the JCC. Uphold the JCC values in all interactions, including welcoming people into the ELS community as well as accepting and appreciating the inherent diversity among all community members.
