Job Description:

Position: Director of Revenue Operations Work Environment: Office Setting (may be remote for periods of time during COVID-19) Position Overview:--The Director, Revenue Operations is accountable for leading, managing, and directing the revenue cycle operations by providing quality billing and collections services, as well as accurate, timely and efficient billing, collections, and administrative processes. Responsible for strategic planning, goal setting, monitoring/measuring work performance, operations/workflow management, project management, risk management, continuous quality improvement, information management, on-going communication, and customer service within the revenue cycle operations. Will also be responsible for insurance eligibility processes, charge processing, claims submission, payment posting, collections, denial management, reporting results and analysis, concurrent and retrospective auditing, proper coding, credentialing, insurance contract review and oversight, customer service relative to revenue cycle, training and development related to revenue cycle, analytics of key performance indicators, and all other revenue cycle management activities. Full supervisory responsibilities for Billing/Coding/Collections team including but not limited to hiring, termination, disciplinary procedures, mentoring, professional development, annual review, salary administration. Education:--Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business, or other related field is required; advanced degree is preferred. Training & Experience:--7 - 10 years healthcare accounts receivables experience is required. 3 - 5 years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience (at a supervisor level and above) in a complex healthcare organization is required.-- Specialized Skills and Knowledge:--

  • Skill in problem solving in a variety of settings.--
  • Basic Knowledge of professional accounting.--
  • Skill in time management and project management.--
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.--
  • Moderate detail knowledge of 837I & 837P Loops and Segments and electronic billing--
  • Ability to apply appropriate supervisory, management and leadership techniques in an operational setting.--
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.--
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and to operationalize that learning.--
  • Ability to deal effectively with change and be a change agent.--
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility and delegate responsibility as needed.--
  • Ability to set priorities and use good judgment for self and staff.-- Duties & Responsibilities of the Position:
    • Responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and guidance to all associates assigned to the department and maintaining positive, effective communication with providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates.--
    • Responsible for measuring, monitoring and meeting key performance indicators and departmental goals in accordance with the company's established policies and procedures and industry best practices.--
    • Manages revenue cycle related functions of the center visit from the point of charge entry to full adjudication of the patient's account, ensuring timely submission of claims, payment posting, denial management, and statements.--
    • Responsible for maximizing the collection of payments and reimbursement from patients, insurance carriers, government agencies, and guarantors.--
    • Monitors aged accounts and verifies appropriate collections procedures are being followed. Identifies, analyzes, and addresses challenges and/or breakdowns in the revenue cycle process.--
    • Plans, implements, and administers programs and services, including personnel administration, training, regulatory compliance, and best practice workflow processes. Develops and implements billing practices by leveraging technology to automate and standardize processes.--
    • Meets regularly with team to identify and resolve issues and promote effective communication and dissemination of information.--
    • Regularly provides--leadership--and revenue cycle--teams--with revenue cycle status including reports, key performance indicator metrics, and presentations--
    • Resolves escalated reimbursement issues with payors, providers, and systems for optimal management of accounts receivable--
    • Stays abreast--commercial--payer billing guidelines and communicates these changes to all interest parties.--
    • Assists in the design of superbills, updating of codes, and charges in the--billing / EHR--systems.--
    • Monitors Clearinghouse system to ensure timely billing.--
