Clayton Early Learning is a hub for Colorado's innovative work in early childhood development. Clayton's 20-acre campus in the heart of Denver is the home of Colorado's only Educare school, a nationally recognized model supporting children from birth to age five and their families. We also impact systems change in Colorado and beyond through our research and evaluation services, professional development for teachers and leaders throughout Colorado, and policy and advocacy work at the state and federal level. Our direct service and systems change work impacts 20,000 children throughout Colorado every year. THE OPPORTUNITY Clayton is at an exciting juncture in its history. We are launching a five-year strategic roadmap that will build on our wide-ranging strengths and position Clayton to be a nationally recognized hub for innovation in the field of early childhood development. The role of Director, Comprehensive Services, a new position, is an opportunity for a leader in the field of early childhood education with a passion for supporting children and families.-- Central to the values of the organization is a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as Clayton aspires to become one of the best places to work in Colorado where each of our employees is thriving while advancing our mission. POSITION SUMMARY This position directs and oversees all activities for children and families to support Clayton's whole child, whole family approach of providing comprehensive services, including health, nutrition, disabilities, and mental health. Manages partner relationships and services and continually grows and enhances offerings provided by the organization to support school readiness for all students. Partners internally and externally to provide strategic leadership to realize the vision of the innovation hub for thriving children and families. Designs and delivers a coordinated and coherent set of evidence-based services that meet the needs of families (nurture), while working in partnership with Clayton team members on the "discover and advance" work to ensure that our direct services are both meeting the needs of families while impacting systems change beyond the Clayton campus. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Student and Family Services Partner Leadership

  • In partnership with Executive Team members, sets the strategic vision for comprehensive services on the Clayton campus and drives the partnership development and implementation plan to achieve Clayton's strategic goals
  • Participates in a leadership role in campus hub planning processes to facilitate a coordinated service approach to enable children and families to thrive
  • Reviews and evaluates partner organizations including mental health services, disability, nutrition, wellness, and childcare partnership sites; manages contracts and contractor relationships
  • Leads community partners through coaching and mentoring for the organization's early childhood development approach; maximizes outcomes for students in community programs or services
  • Provides leadership, direction, and support for the department to ensure programs are evidence-based, meeting the needs of stakeholders, and implemented appropriately
  • Ensures culturally responsive and inclusive practices in service delivery models to enhance the strengths for students, families, and employees
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders at partner organizations to enhance relationships; maintains effective relationships with agencies, consultants, and governing bodies
  • Stays current on professional literature and effective practices nationally to ensure a research-based approach to services at Clayton
  • Oversees assessment services and student-specific observations; collaborates with internal team and provides recommendations; serves as escalation path around services for parents and employees
  • Leads/Oversees comprehensive screening and assessment processes to ensure individualized services for students and evaluates their progress towards benchmarks; analyzes data to assess, plans and make appropriate adjustments to the quality of programs and services
  • Provides consultations to parents and families to support service offerings and student specific outcomes; educates parents on different program offerings and services related to their student, classroom, or the organization
  • Reviews expectations, policies, and procedures for assessment services; provides recommendations and updates to continually improve service offerings
  • Communicates effectively representing Clayton's vision and approach to comprehensive services and building credibility with internal and external stakeholders including service providers, research partners, funders, Board members, community leaders, and the media Compliance Management
    • Monitors and tracks goals for services and meets with stakeholders to review and update goals of individual or group services; analyzes and tracks the team's progress towards achieving federal, program and organization goals and objectives
    • Reviews and oversees documentation and submission processes including submission of reports, progress summaries, etc.; reviews relevant systems to ensure accurate files, forms, logs, and service information
    • Collaborates with the Director team to ensure compliance is followed within each partner organization; maintains compliance with Colorado Child Care Rules and Regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Standards, Educare Core Competences and other local and state regulations; collaborates with team to understand and assess compliance standards and regulations within programs Functional Team Lead
      • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders including families, partners and government entities
      • Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures for the department; includes quality assurance processes and a focus on balancing empirical rigor and cost-efficiency; supports with enforcing guidelines and standards for all procedures
      • Oversees and develops their team to build expertise; provides support and guidance on activities and workflow; provides regular performance feedback and establishes performance plans
      • Supports the function with all supervisory responsibilities including hiring, professional development, training, performance management and terminations for employees within function
      • Promotes professional development to optimize student outcomes; fosters two-way communication and a positive employee relationship
      • Manages the departmental budget and staffing with VP; prepares and speaks to reports and information as needed
      • Develops federal applications and monitors and prepares progress reports
      • Represents the program in the community to enhance collaboration and advance the brand and reputation of the organization QUALIFICATIONS
        • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
        • 5+ years experience in early childhood education, coaching, or teacher experience Certifications or Licenses
          • Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care Center Director Qualification preferred
          • CPR Certification
          • Pediatric First Aid Certification
          • Universal Precautions Certification
          • Valid driver's license with evidence of auto insurance Other Special Requirements
            • Knowledge of economic, cultural, and societal challenges of ethnically diverse communities preferred
            • Current PPD-TB and physical examination
            • Successfully pass a Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background checks
            • Pass a National Sex Offender Registry Check Skills and Abilities
