Clayton's 20 acre campus in the heart of Denver is the home of Colorado's only Educare school, a
nationally recognized model supporting children from birth to age five and their families. We also
impact systems change in Colorado and beyond through our research and evaluation services,
professional development for teachers and leaders throughout Colorado, and policy and advocacy
work at the state and federal level. Our direct service and systems change work has impacted 20,000
children throughout Colorado. POSITION--SUMMAR Y Provides comprehensive financial accounting,-- budgeting, --and reporting for-- the organization . The position is responsible for all federal, state, local, and private grant accounting for funds received in relation to the-- s chool-- d ivision, which includes but is not limited to grant reconciliation, budgeting, allocation entries, invoicing, and maintaining accurate and organized files for related grants. Federal grant experience required. KEY--RESPONSIB ILITIES --& DUTIES REPORTING --MANAGEMENT P repares-- and analyzes monthly financial reports for programs --and the organization , and interim and final grant financial reports to funders per requirements Provides financial reports for-- the organization and management; reports to be provided on on-going and infrequent basis Prepares and presents federal revenue and expenditure reports for the Policy Council G RANT --ACCOU N TING-- Provides monthly financial oversight of all federal,-- state, --and local grants Assists with the annual budgeting process; collaborates with budget managers and providers support,-- reports, --and analyses Provides cash flow and financial projections for all funding-- areas, --forecasts revenues and expenses for grants In coordination with-- internal stakeholders --is responsible for accurate entry of labor distribution schedules for payroll entry Prepares invoices-- for --funding sources as, ensur es --accuracy and timely submission to-- all-- funding sources R e views financial statements for completeness,-- accuracy, --and compliance Monitors all revenue sources for-- the organization on a regular basis --and submits reports as requested QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field EXPERIENCE- 5+ years in a ccounting-- in a non-profit environment with Federal/State grant experience OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Wor k ing knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Working knowledge of non-profit tax filing and tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal level regulations Strong familiarity with electronic spreadsheets, word processing and accounting software, specifically Abila MIP Head Start --and Early Head State --Federal Grant Management experience highly desirable SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand and perform intermediate --to advanced accounting principles. Position requires a high degree of attention to detail ,-- ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, outside vendors and associate s Superior analytical thinking with the a bility to apply problem-solving skills essential in developing solutions for unanticipated issues and challenges Ability to coordinate concurrent projects and manage resources to achieve successful project completion on a timely basis Ability to develop and remember schedules, programs, policies, and other details, and apply good time management and organization skills. Strong organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills Ability to identify conflict and take steps necessary to resolve the issues Ability to understand and apply intermediate to advanced level organizational theories and practices and analytical skills essential in the development and implementation of policies, practices, programs Ability to remain calm and calm others in an emergency, stressful and/or confrontational situation Promotes positive interaction and cooperation with employees, fiscal and administration staff and funding agencies Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of accounting software; ability to learn new software as needed COMPENSATION DETAILS
