our growth objectives, UDC is seeking a full-time--Director of
Human Resources--with solid hands-on HR skills to support our
organization. The selected candidate will report to the Chief
Operating Officer. What you will do UDC's Director of Human
Resources oversees the overall strategic direction, planning,
coordination, administration, and evaluation of human resources.
You are responsible for developing and ensuring effective
implementation of plans, systems, policies, talent acquisition,
talent management and development, employee engagement, legal
compliance and recordkeeping, employee relations, compensation,
benefits, and payroll. You must be an assertive, results and
success-oriented self-starter and quick learner, comfortable with
interacting and partnering with senior managers, benefits brokers,
vendors, legal counsel, and employees at all levels, while focused
on follow-through on day-to-day details and process improvement.
Most importantly, you need to take pride in the quality and
accuracy of your work, communicate openly, and value and develop
our team. Our Director of Human Resources wears many hats as UDC
employs 300+ employees across the US and in India, with four
divisions staffed by technical professionals, recent college grads,
and skilled workers. You will lead and mentor the HR team, which
includes two HR Generalists and one HR Assistant in UDC offices in
WI and FL, and one HR Manager in India, and the Denver
administrative staff - an Administrative Services Supervisor and an
Office Administrator. We are considering moving the payroll
function under this position in which case, the Payroll Manager
will report to you. Together you and your team will be responsible
for the following tasks: -- Partners with the leadership team to
understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent
strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent
needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. Oversees
talent acquisition efforts to ensure the organization is
effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right
candidates -- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements
policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support
the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs. --
Manages the administration of human resource programs including,
but not limited to, compensation; disciplinary matters; leaves;
disputes and investigations; performance and talent management;
immigration processing; productivity, recognition , and morale;
occupational health and safety; and training and development. --
Oversees the annual benefits review and open enrollment process,
including partnering and negotiating with external vendors and
brokers, preparing communication for employees, and working with
the HR team to ensure employees are well informed and engaged. --
Provides support and guidance to HR staff, management, and other
staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues
arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in
delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations,
investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. --
Identifies ways to increase staff retention and productivity,
including strategies to enhance employee engagement, leadership and
staff development, regular feedback and coaching, career
development, and promoting a coherent organizations culture to
position UDC as an "employer of choice." -- Maintains up-to-date
knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations at
the local, state, and federal level relating to employment and
ensures organization compliance. This includes educating and
advising managers and senior leaders on HR-related legal and
regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices and policies
are aligned, and recommends best practices. Ensures employee files
and records are properly maintained. -- Conducts research and
analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and
metrics from the organization's human resource information system
(HRIS) or talent management system. -- Participates in the annual
401(k) plan audit. -- May oversee the processing of multi-state
payroll for 300+ employees, and review payroll returns prepared by
our payroll service provider. -- Evaluates the HR department
structure and plans for continual improvement of the efficiency and
effectiveness of the group and provides staff with professional
growth and development opportunities. Optimizes HR programs,
policies, processes, and systems to create additional value for the

Gym Reimbursement Program Requirements -- Bachelor's degree in
Human Resources or related field required -- 8+ years of
progressive HR leadership experience -- Experience in generalist
areas of HR support, including talent acquisition, performance,
talent management, compensation, HR systems, processes and
procedures, succession planning, employee development and training,
employee relations, and immigration processing. -- Thorough
knowledge of state and federal laws of employment-related laws and
regulations, including California -- Proficient with Microsoft
Office Suite and HRIS systems, preferably Kronos -- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in
developing and delivering presentations to all levels of the
organization -- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict
resolution skills -- Outstanding judgment, sensitivity, and high
discretion -- Strong business acumen and leadership abilities. --
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
-- Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and
manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional
teamwork environment -- Excellent time management skills with a
proven ability to meet deadlines -- Ability to adapt to the needs
