We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.The RoleWholesale Financial Crimes Risk Control (WFCRC) is responsible for the coordination, oversight and ultimate execution of Wholesale Banking?s commitments to key internal and external stakeholders as it relates to the management of financial crimes risk with the Wholesale Bank. In addition to having responsibility for Wholesale Banking?s execution of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) program, WFCRC is also responsible for the remediation of the OCC BSA/AML Consent Order. This team will partner with line of business (?LOB?), operations, risk and compliance team members, Wholesale Control Executive Office, Enterprise Financial Crimes Risk Management, Wells Fargo Audit Services, and Testing & Validation to advocate and ensure alignment in scope, purpose, expectations and execution of the Wholesale Financial Crimes Program. The team will achieve this through a focus on strong communication, strategic planning, thoughtful and meaningful tracking/reporting, and timely escalation and change management.Within WFCRC, the WFCRC Audit & Exam Management (WFCRC AEM) team with the Domestic Financial Crimes Audit Team (FiCAT) , Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Targeted Risk and Control Evaluation (TRACE), and U.S. Regulators by managing audit and testing engagements. The WFCRC AEM manages ad-hoc request lists, facilitates meetings with key stakeholders, provides credible challenge and researches observations for appropriateness and risk appetite. The WFCRC AEM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking Operational Risk Consultant (ORC). The ORC will report to the WFCRC AEM ORC5.?Individual Responsibilities?

  • Assisting the WFCRC AEM manager with managing the interaction with WFAS (Domestic), FCRM TRACE, and U.S. Regulators
  • Providing BSA/AML expertise and oversight to the Wholesale BAU and CO efforts. This ORC specifically will review all initiatives with a BSA/AML lens to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations and Wells Fargo Policies and procedures, with a focus on sustainable and repeatable processes
  • Reviewing critical artifacts that support remediation action plan items, as well as consultation and collaboration with WFCRC. The position may lead/interact with multiple domain topic teams and would have the added complexity of understanding multiple, varied business domains as well as multiple business leads. This position interacts with senior leadership and major stakeholders to gather and communicate progress against strategic plans and objectives for the program
  • Translating leadership vision into executable strategies and drive implementation efforts to achieve transformational change delivering business benefit
  • Managing diverse relationships and fostering a collaborative team dynamic with Risk Management, businesses, Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders while maintaining Risk Management Framework?s Core Four competencies:? (a) Consistency; (b) Embedded Risk Management; (c) Adaptability; and (d) Connectivity.? The role may involve interactions with regulators and external stakeholders. However, at its core, this role is focused on providing an experienced, BSA/AML expertise and credible challenge to all BAU/CO efforts, with a particular goal of validation by both internal (e.g. Audit) and external (e.g. regulator) stakeholdersThe CandidateLeadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection.? Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments.? It requires a team member with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills.? They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit?s risk appetite, and all risk and compliance program requirements.

    Required Qualifications
    • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

        • Working knowledge of the audit life cycle, standards, practices and testing strategies
        • Working knowledge of BSA/AML programs including CDD, EDD, CIP and / or other related risk and regulatory disciplines
        • Operates independently with minimal supervision, and effectively manages work requests to meet performance expectations
        • Ability to leverage creative thinking and problem solving skills
        • Ability to analyze data and connect the dots, making recommendations to managers in a timely manner
        • Experience in communicating with senior executive-level leaders which includes articulating issues and propose solutions to various levels of staff and management
        • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
        • Ability to manage diverse relationships and foster collaborative team dynamic with Risk Management, Wholesale businesses, WFAS and other key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
        • Ability to dissect complex organizational structures
        • Ability to collaborate with geographically dispersed teams and matrixed relationships
        • Ability to multitask and manage multiple requests
        • Ability to identify and understand risk and Wholesale risk appetite
        • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or other BSA/AML recognized certification, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and other certifications supported by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
        • A BS/BA degree or higher ?
