For more information, visit http://www.ball.com/aerospace, Facebook or Twitter. --Senior Test Engineer-Tactical Solutions - Technology Integrator and Flight Test EngineerTactical Solutions, a business unit within Ball Aerospace, is looking for an individual with practical experience in flight testing and field testing of tactical RF systems. The individual should have familiarity transitioning systems in the conceptual design and demonstration phase through engineering development to an initial operational capability. This position requires understanding the deployment and utilization of operational RF systems. The position requires a passion for developing operational systems through the agile integration of lab, field, and flight testing.What you---ll do: Learn about the expanding portfolio of Tactical Solutions--- RF systems and leading efforts to showcase and understand system performance through internal product development and participation in government sponsored test events. Coordinate, plan and execute operationally realistic RF test events in a Systems Integration lab, field test, and flight test, including coordinating with external agencies, vendors, and DoD test ranges. Support technical staff in building and operating RF systems ensuring the systems meet data collection and processing requirements, with a goal of measuring the systems operational utility. Work as team member or team lead internally and externally with parts vendors, aircraft vendors and government sponsors. Develop a robust System Integration Laboratory/Testbed working with competing goals and objectives meeting project timelines and budgetary constraints. Create representative threat environments in open air and anechoic settings from threat description documents. Analyze and present data collected during test events. Serve as a mentor to teammates and staff. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company.-- Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary. What you---ll need: BS degree or higher in Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years of experience in flight test and field test of RF systems or related experience.-- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master---s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education Current secret security clearance required. Experience in the design and assembly of hardware and software systems, embedded systems, signal processing and data collection systems in the RF is required. Familiarity with Military and Commercial Standards pertaining to aircraft. Experience with lab equipment used in the data collection and calibration of antennas, radar, and RF circuits. Experience with flight planning tools and processes. Experience with analysis tools such as MATLAB is required. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Experience with Electro-Optical and Infra-Red (EO/IR) technologies is a plus Experience leading and managing teams is a plus. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment. May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. May access other facilities in various weather conditions. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required. Travel to coordinate and execute field testing at non-Ball locations will be required.
