This role serves as a Senior QA Engineer, specifically a Spanish speaking IVR Call Handling tester and team lead on key programs at CenturyLink.
This role will be a team lead for multiple agile scrum teams, responsible for understanding the product flow for assigned programs, actively engaging in planning meetings for the release, scrum team ceremonies, scrum of scrum ceremonies, and identifying QA tasks and actions. The senior QA engineer will assist the product owner and business clients in creation of acceptance criteria for user stories and help provide guidance from a QA perspective regarding standards, user experience, system performance, non-functional user stories, and defects. They will support the data creation, test case/acceptance test design, test execution, automation, and environment set up. They will also support the demonstration of completed user stories to the product owner.
The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for:
All types of testing including System/Functional test, Intersystem Test, Automation Test, and Flow Through test.
Providing estimations for testing activities, test planning and design for complex systems, and collaborating with various teams across IT and the business.
Analyzing program/project requirements; identifying requirement gaps and resolving with appropriate functional group
Defining, organizing, and documenting test cases
Executing assigned test cases while managing test environments
Documenting test defects and tracking to resolution; responsible for troubleshooting or issue replication to provide additional detail for resolution
Executing and troubleshooting automated test cases ultimately responsible to complete product certification on time with the highest level of quality.
Partnering and leading other team members on increased product knowledge and troubleshooting techniques; proactively reaching out for additional training courses or ways to improve technical knowledge
In addition to the description above, the Senior QA Engineer will also be the main point of contact and coordination lead between the onshore testing team and the offshore testing team, ensuring smooth communication and hand off daily, as well as providing direction and collaborating with the offshore technical lead. This role specifically also requires a fluent Spanish speaker to validate call handling prompts and recordings, ensuring not only the logical flow of Spanish prompts in the IVR system, but also validating the language itself and terminology in Spanish, and identifying any issues in the Spanish verbiage. This role will also help to lead the onboarding and implementation of automation tools to help bring the IVR testing teams into agile maturity through automated testing for Sanity, Regression, and Functional tests, encouraging the adoption of automated testing over manual testing as much as possible.
This role will be interfacing with multiple testing, UAT, development, project management, and product owner/business teams to ensure that testing is completed on track or push for mitigation plans if the implementation dates are in jeopardy. As the primary provider of timely resolutions, this person will need to possess strong technical skills and the aptitude required to identify and address critical issues. As a seasoned team member, this person will be expected to contribute towards the team's continual process improvement bringing creative ideas to potential challenges.
4-6 years related test experience
Fluent North American Spanish speaker (preferably as native language)
Experience and working knowledge of IVR and Call Handling systems
Experience in Java, C, C++, SQL, and test automation tools (Selenium, UFT, SOA Test, Empirix Hammer, etc)
Experience in testing SOAP or REST based web services using tools like SOA Test or SOAP UI
Experience in test designer processes and methods
Experience in agile and scrum methodologies
Knowledge in test case automation using BDD
High attention to detail and commitment to developing very detailed test cases in step by step patterns
Ability to successfully communicate with partners and leaders across the organization
Ability to drive a team of testers (onshore and offshore), escalating blocking issues
Strong leadership skills including initiative, teamwork and high emotional intelligence
Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical abilities
Self-starter with a strong desire to learn new technologies
Candidate must demonstrate experience in following an established software development methodology, test development planning and problem resolution
Strong communication and consensus-building skills which enable interaction with IT partners, business owners and end users
Strong written/verbal communication skills
