About the Role:

As a CBRE Assistant Chief Engineer, you will oversee building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs. Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to advanced mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Develop an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors.
  • Head the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review and sign off on inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Mentor others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to embrace a different point of view.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

    Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.

    Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in one or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.

    Refrigeration operators license & 608 universal Certification required or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.

    Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an advanced inquisitive mentality.

    CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Assistant Chief Engineer position is $100,000 annually [or $48.08 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Assistant Chief Engineer Engineer position is $120,000 annually [or $57.69 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
