Position Overview:

The Industrial Engineering Section Manager within Operations is responsible for leading a support team consisting of Section Leads and Industrial Engineers. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Engineering Department Manager and will be accountable for providing functional support and systemic expertise in all phases of the factory life cycle through the management of approximately 10-15 engineers. Responsibilities include mentoring, training, hiring, functional strategy development, providing technical guidance, coordinating resources, managing team staffing levels, conducting interviews, EAC forecasting, make center project ownership, safety and performance development.

The Section Manager is the strategic make center's expert in advanced problem solving techniques and lean principles to develop and optimize the Manufacturing system in order to maximize throughput, increase efficiency and value. The Section Manager is also expected to support proposal activities and provide cost estimates for program bids and fiscal year planning.

The candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 8 hour work day and 40 hour work week, including alternating weekend and holiday coverage throughout the year. This position requires direct support of manufacturing activities and spending nearly 100% of daily time in the factory areas.

  • Verbal and Written technical communication Qualifications You Must Have:
    • Bachelor's Degree Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Preferred degrees in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
    • Eight (8) years of relevant experience or an Advanced STEM Degree and five (5) years of relevant experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing and test environment
    • Experience in leading teams or projects
    • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing Principles (Process Improvement and methods optimization)
    • Experience with project management
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF)
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Value:

        This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending time in and around factory areas.
