Our inclusive and transformative community seeks an Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2018-19 school year.

Objective: STRIVE Prep Elementary Assistant Principals will create exceptional outcomes for scholars by implementing high quality school wide systems and leading procedures for school wide routines, as well as providing instructional coaching support for teachers.

                Essential Duties and Responsibilities

                Instruction:


                • Collaborate with school leader and other admin to design and implement excellent professional development.
                • Consistently and effectively model revolutionary instruction and management strategies.
                • Use data to drive instruction by creating and refining dashboards, conducting analysis, and collaborating with school leaders and teachers to facilitate meetings.
                • Lead teachers in the development of school-wide curricula within specific content areas.
                • Serve as a key member of the Instructional Leadership Team.
                • Collaborate with Ruby Hill---s leadership team to implement standardized test administration.


                  Culture:


                  • Establish systems and routines in order to create a safe, purposeful and welcoming school environment.
                  • Ensure students are safe and maximize learning time by upholding school-wide behavioral expectations and supporting larger student discipline issues.
                  • Collaborate with Ruby Hill---s Director of School-based Operations to execute a school-wide incentive system for students.
                  • Meet regularly with Grade Level Leads to further develop their capacity to lead the team.
                  • Communicate regularly and often with families to both solicit their input and share student social and academic progress.
                  • Assist with student recruitment and enrollment.


                    Development:


                    • Participate in STRIVE Prep---s Summer Training Institute in July as well as professional development throughout the school year.
                    • Attend and participate in weekly staff and grade level meetings.
                    • Participate in regular instructional coaching meetings.


                      Requirements:


                      • 3+ years of elementary teaching experience (required) and at least 1 of instructional coaching experience at the elementary school level (highly preferred).
                      • Proudly holds a Bachelor---s degree (required).


                        In addition, we strongly prefer the following:


                        • Speaks Spanish and/or has experience working with English Learners
                        • Demonstrated success working with students of color
