As a RN Clinical Coach you need to know how to:

  • Provide clinically competent to care for patients, be knowledgeable about disease processes and identify symptoms of complications.
  • Design, implement, evaluate and/or support programs and processes that drive favorable patient care outcomes.
  • Integrate care of multiple disciplines to achieve highest outcomes.
  • Clearly articulate patients' and/or associates' needs, concerns, and perspective to physicians and other care providers.
  • Advocate and negotiate within the healthcare system on behalf of high quality patient care.
  • Remain current with nursing research/evidence based practices (EBP) and operationalize findings into clinical practice to ensure best practices are incorporated into the care of all patients.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and effective coaching skills.
  • Provide ongoing skill-development and coaching for all clinical staff as indicated, including emerging education, skills and competencies needed to provide a high standard of patient care.
  • Support the clinical and professional development of nursing colleagues through mentoring and role modeling.
  • Be knowledgeable about nurse sensitive indicators and national benchmark data; assist in achieving site goals/ driving results.
  • Be knowledgeable about performance improvement methodology and current practices in place to improve quality of care to assigned patient population.
  • Support nursing, providers, and supervisors in overhead alert situations to ensure proper and timely care of patients in urgent/emergent situations and ensure best practices are followed at the point of care. Your experience. We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
    • Graduate of an Accredited Approved School of Nursing with BSN. Masters degree in nursing preferred.
    • Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license required.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience.
    • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval), required (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).
    • Clinical Nurse Ladder 4 or 5. Extensive clinical knowledge of the patient population is preferred but may be acquired over time under the mentorship of senior staff.
