Job Description:
Job Title: Steel Estimator Employment Type: Full-time Experience
Required: 3–6 years Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented
and experienced Steel Estimator to join our structural steel
fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of
estimating experience in a structural steel fabrication shop and be
proficient in using Tekla for takeoffs and modeling. Our company
fabricates both structural steel and miscellaneous metals for a
variety of commercial construction projects in the region. Key
Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for
structural and miscellaneous steel components. Review architectural
and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Perform
detailed takeoffs and cost estimates using Tekla software.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the fabrication
team to ensure alignment between estimates and production.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for material and service
pricing. Identify value engineering opportunities and provide
cost-saving recommendations. Preferred Qualifications: 3–6 years of
steel estimating experience in a fabrication shop setting.
Proficient in Tekla Structures and Tekla EPM (or similar
platforms). Strong understanding of structural steel and
miscellaneous metals (e.g., stairs, handrails, embeds). Experience
with commercial construction projects. Excellent attention to
detail, organizational, and communication skills. Compensation &
