Business Journal! The Position: The Development Specialist (Grants
& Administration) is a hybrid role combining development
administrative support (50%) with grant proposal writing and grant
administration (50%). This position plays a critical role in
supporting the operational effectiveness of the Development
Department while also managing key components of CrossPurpose’s
Foundations funding strategy. Its scope includes administrative
coordination, scheduling, systems management, development
operations support, with grant administration and writing. By
combining strong administrative support, along with grant writing
and administrative knowledge, the Development Specialist ensures
both the strategy and the systems behind our fundraising efforts
are strong, organized, and mission-aligned. Responsibilities:
Development & Administrative Support (Approximately 50%) Provide
administrative support to the Development Department’s Foundations
team, including coordinating calendars, appointments, and meeting
preparation Assist with internal and external communications
related to development initiatives within the Foundations team
Support donor, foundation, and partner correspondence as needed
Prepare meeting briefs, agendas, and follow-up items for the donor
meetings Maintain organized electronic and shared filing systems
related to grants and development operations Assist with expense
reports, document preparation, and development event coordination
as needed Support the Development team during peak workload periods
and special initiatives Serve as a key administrative and
operational partner to ensure the Development team operates
efficiently and professionally Proposal Writing & Administration
(Approximately 50%) Assist in research, writing, and submitting
high-quality grant proposals to foundation, corporate, and
government funders Gather program data, outcomes, budgets, and
narratives from internal teams to support proposals and reports
Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar, ensuring timely
submissions, reporting, and compliance Track grant activity,
deadlines, and reporting requirements in Salesforce and Asana
Manage post-award grant compliance, reporting, and deliverables
Coordinate with program, finance, and operations teams to support
the effective execution of grant-funded initiatives Stay current on
relevant statistics, trends, and best practices to strengthen
proposal quality Utilize AI and research tools to support efficient
grant development processes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
preferred. Passion for CrossPurpose’s faith-based mission. Two to
five years of experience in nonprofit administration, writing and
communications Proven ability to tailor writing for a range of
audiences, including foundations, corporate partners, individual
donors, and other stakeholders. Proficiency in Google Suite and MS
Office, along with the ability to interpret and present data.
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) Highly
professional written and verbal communication skills Ability to
protect and appropriately handle confidential information Working
knowledge of AI tools that support the proposal writing process.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to establish and
maintain efficient tracking and follow-up systems. Availability for
evening/weekend events and meetings, as needed. Ability to work
independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment. ? Salary & Benefits: Hours: 40
hours/week: generally Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional
hours for events as needed. Starting Salary: $59,000 - $70,800
Annually (Administrative Specialist III) Vacation: 15 days per
year, plus the office is closed Christmas Day - New Year's Day, and
staff have limited duties Sick Days: 6 days per year Benefits:
