POSITION SUMMARY - Tax Manager (could be supervisor level through senior manager) Within a diverse and complex family office environment, the Tax Manager is responsible for managing compliance for 200+ entities in a variety of industries including, but not limited to, real estate, oil & gas, retail, and investment partnerships. The Tax Manager will also assist Chief Financial Officer and Controller with high-level finance and accounting projects. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Tax Manager

  • Responsible for tax compliance for approximately 200 entities
  • Review of federal and state income taxes for individuals, partnerships, S Corps, C Corps, trusts, and exempt organizations
  • Analyze and review annual general ledger information, other relevant data, complex transactions, accounting and technical tax rules.
  • Respond to all federal and state government correspondence
  • Manage all tax examinations and audits
  • Responsible for income tax planning and estimated tax payments
  • Implement estate planning strategies per attorneys
  • Supervise tax staff
  • Manage projects outsourced to tax consultants
  • Develop and maintain tax processes and procedures
  • High-level accounting, finance and tax projects
  • Assist controller with the review of monthly financials, as needed
  • Manage audits
  • Review of grant applications
  • Review of cash flow projections, budgets, and investment performance projections
  • Review of performance reporting of brokerage and alternative investments
  • Other special projects QUALIFICATIONS - Tax Manager
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
    • 5+ years of tax experience
    • CPA certification preferred
    • Extensive knowledge and expertise in a broad range of tax matters in various industries, including partnerships accounting, brokerage accounts, and alternative investments.
    • A good understanding of accounting, finance, legal, insurance and general business matters.
    • Willing to work in an open, team environment
    • Strong communication, presentation and project management skills
    • Previous ProSystem experience preferred
