Job DescriptionLOCATION: The preferred location for this role is Salida, Colorado. Consideration for candidates located in the Denver, Colorado area will be considered on an individual basis with 50% travel to Salida, Colorado. Relocation Assistance is Available!POSITION SUMMARY:The AVP Loans Operations Officer is responsible for the management and day-to-day supervision of the Loan Operations department. The AVP Loans Operations Officer supervises the Loan Operations department staff to ensure they properly follow bank policies and procedures, comply with laws and regulations, process loans timely and accurately and provide a positive customer service experience. He/she ensures loan processing functions run smoothly and efficiently, provides leadership, training and supervision. He/she follows and promotes the Golden Rule while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The AVP Loan Operations Officer is responsible for the management and day-to-day supervision of the Bank's Loan Operations department and Mountain Loan Assistants functions including:Continually reviews processes and procedures for ways to make them more efficient and effective including automating and standardizing, when appropriate.Ensures shifts, lunches, breaks and time off for staff are scheduled appropriately.Ensures all staff are trained properly and timely so that functions are processed in compliance with bank policies, procedures and regulations.Works closely and communicates with the Chief Operating Officer on staffing and operational matters.Leads new loan-related products and system conversions as they apply to the Loan Operation department.Manages all back-room functions for building, booking and disbursing loans.Prepares and administers performance reviews and determines salary adjustments for staff members.Ensures weekly time cards for staff are reviewed and approved.Delegate's duties to staff as appropriate and reviews work for accuracy.Ensures Branch Certifications are completed and submitted timely.Communicates effectively with the Chief Operating Officer regarding staff performance issues.Works with the Chief Operations Officer to hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions.Coordinates completing assignments associated with audits and exams in a timely manner.Tests, trains and documents system enhancements (e.g. Horizon, Laser Pro, FDM).Ensures monthly loan compliance is prepared timely and accurately. Prepares report to board.Attends and reports to management during monthly management meetings.Opens and closes branch as needed.Creates and maintains impaired asset loans. Monitors and tracks OREO.Researches and Implements new programs, products and procedures for loan department.Keeps open communication channels with the Bank Compliance Officer.Performs job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal/state rules and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in a business related field or equivalent work experience.Minimum of five years branch banking experience specifically in loan operations required.Minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Thorough knowledge of loan regulations and compliance.Strong verbal and written communications skills.Must be able to make sound decisions.Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. and ability to learn new systems/applications.Competency in or ability to learn core banking systems and Laser Pro.Ability to work independently.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.Ability to communicate with auditors, regulators, customers and personnel at all levels.Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneous in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment.COMPENSATION: Salary includes a bonus plan and is negotiable depending upon relevant experience.
