Job Description Brief Description /n The Senior Tax Accountant
is a key role on the BluSky Tax team that primarily supports the
indirect tax compliance function and, the direct tax compliance
function. This role is responsible for preparing various
transaction tax returns that are filed in state and local tax
jurisdictions. Responsibilities also include researching,
consulting, and planning activities for the multi-state and
multi-office environment. /n /n Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 /n
/n Principal Duties & Responsibilities /n /n - Prepare and review
sales and use tax returns for state and local jurisdictions. /n -
Support sales and use tax audits. /n - Respond to correspondence
and inquiries from tax authorities and resolve outstanding tax
issues. /n - Participates in the development, planning and
execution of sales tax compliance strategies. /n - Manage and
maintain sales and use tax registrations and certificates. /n -
Oversee the property tax compliance function for state and local
jurisdictions. Review and address property tax assessments. /n -
Work closely with the Licensing and Risk teams to ensure
companywide reporting accuracy. /n - Ensure tax compliance using
BluSky's ERP system, tax research software and other technology
systems. /n - Collaborate with the Accounting Department and other
Departments on tax matters as required. /n - Perform other ad-hoc
duties as assigned, including support of the federal and state
income tax functions. /n /n Qualifications & Requirements /n /n - 4
years of accounting experience, preferably at least two in a public
accounting firm, or at least 2 years working in a large
organization with operations in multiple states. (Preferred) /n -
Minimum 2 years of experience in indirect tax compliance.
(Preferred) /n - Ability to analyze, manipulate and organize large
datasets in Excel. /n - Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency
in all other Microsoft Office programs. /n - Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax
regulations and apply them to business operations. /n - Ability to
work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines on
multiple initiatives. /n - A 40-hour work week generally applies,
however additional hours might be required to meet monthly,
quarterly and annual tax deadlines. /n - Capable of working
independently and with limited supervision. /n - Must be very
detailed oriented, self-motivated and a team player. /n - Strong
work ethic and commitment to a thorough self-review of all work
products. /n - Solid interpersonal skills with ability to
communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing. /n /n
Supervisory Responsibility /n This role has no direct reports. /n
/n Education /n BS degree in Accounting or Finance required. /n /n
