SummaryIn this role, you will report to the Western Union's Head of
Financial Intelligence and help formulate and execute the Financial
Intelligence Unit's global partner engagement and outreach
program.This role will act as a key advisor to the Head of the FIU
in establishing and maintaining close, strategic partnerships with
global law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as well as
industry and other entities. This role is expected to fully
understand or be able to gain knowledge of Western Union products,
transactional/settlement flows and AML/CTF risks associated with
each of them, as well as is required to oversee, intake, review,
and process requests for Law Enforcement and Government agencies in
a timely manner. In this role you will be expected to maintain
advanced knowledge of regional laws and regulations regarding
suspicious transaction reporting and the release of such
information to law enforcement.The FIU exists to mitigate money
laundering and terrorist financing risks to Western Union so this
role must understand and appropriately prioritize typologies such
as terrorist financing, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and
child exploitation and escalate to partners within the FIU via its
Typology Integration Program. This role will be a participant and
speaker in cross function evolutions such as Public Private
Partnership involving regulators, industry and law enforcement, and
likely to be called upon to present to large audiences. This role
will serve a mentor to provide training and support to colleagues
across FIU teams.Role Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and evolve a programmatic framework to engage
strategic law enforcement and other necessary relationships through
networking events, meetings, project briefings, participation on
task forces and law enforcement associations.
- Provide tactical assistance through tools including alerting,
keep open requests, court order or subpoena support, general
assistance, testimony, etc. Gain and provide intelligence both
qualitative and quantitative from interactions with law enforcement
with FIU and Compliance teams.
- Document all interactions into relevant databases and be able
to run reports on team's interactions.
- Participates in programmatic change efforts, procedure updates
and revisions, improvement projects within region as well as
enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, such as the FIU's
Typology Integration Program.
- Prepares and speaks at presentations and leads interactions
with (team) and other FIU and global compliance teams and Business
partners on risk and operational issues. Provides oversight and
guidance to team members or FIU Office teams on complex consumer,
agent and typology issues concerning the patterns and trends
associated with AML risk as it relates to partner engagement.
- Coaches and mentors team members on procedures or processes,
may act as a subject matter expert during engagements with
others
- Work cross-functionally with global teams across the
organization and/or support projects, and innovation items to
further department prioritiesRole Requirements

$115,368-177,600 per year, which includes a base salary and
short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and
company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates'
