The Art History Special Collections Research Assistant will work with the Art History faculty to research and document a series of objects belonging to the Museo de las Americas. Job duties may include but are not limited to: location and organization of scholarly sources; photographing, scanning and copying; and assisting in the production of archival records.

Location and synthesis of scholarly materials (75%)

  • Research and collects data through library research and other project-specific methodology as instructed by faculty. Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data.

  • Location and organization of scholarly sources

  • Meets with a faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the status of tasks.

    Documentation and reporting (25%)

    • Assisting in the production of archival records.

    • Photographing, scanning, and copying various materials.

      Required Qualifications

      * Must be a current MSU Denver Student
      * Candidate must be eligible for Federal, Colorado, or No-need work-study.
      * Must be registered for at least 6 credits.
      * Requires ability to conduct research and communicate effectively in writing.
      * Be punctual, reliable, and able to work with limited supervision.
      * Set hours are required.

      Preferred Qualifications

      * One year of art history coursework.

      MSU Denver offers temporary, non-benefit eligible employees sick leave. The sick leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed a maximum of 48 hours in a calendar year.
