Crucially you are passionate about and energized by new projects and creating growth and contributing to the success of the business. ___Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Reporting:

  • Directly oversees all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and all general ledger activity
  • Establish, update and document ongoing accounting processes and procedures
  • Responsible for recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Oversee the monthly global financial close process in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work with direct reports to drive the efficiency and accuracy of the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring that the system and processes are used to their full potential to deliver quality management reporting
  • Collaborating with Asset Management, Property Management and Accounting to ensure that required monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders is delivered in a timely and accurate manger
  • Lead treasury management
  • Manage internal reporting process including projected cash flows at both the corporate and property level across the portfolio. Oversee the rollup of portfolio-wide information
  • Responsible for building out and managing all corporate-level analysis, budgeting, and forecasting needs
  • Contribute to the preparation of key financial deliverables - KPI analyses, annual plans for forecasts and ROI assessments for various initiatives
  • Oversee monthly review, analysis and reporting of the variances between the actual operating results of the corporate entities and its annual business plan
  • Collaborating with Asset Management, Property Management and Accounting to ensure that annual budgets, long-term budgets, and business plans are prepared and submitted in a timely manner and in accordance with the obligations of all applicable Operating Agreements, at both the corporate and property level Other Responsibilities: -- Facilitate communication and serve as the key analytical point of contact between Property Management Accounting, Asset Management, and the Executive Leadership Team
    • Act as a strategic partner across the organization, delivering meaningful insight and financial decision support
    • Acts as a primary financial executive responsible for oversight and implementation of all financial control policies and procedures
    • Monitors and reports on progress related to achieving operational and strategic objectives
    • Interprets, analyzes, and reports on financial results for senior management and external auditors
    • Ability to grow and drive efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of our high-growth business
    • Work with 3rd party experts to drive an efficient tax compliance process
    • Responsible for accounts filing, tax compliance and transfer pricing adherence for all companies and liaising with specialist advisors where necessary.

      • Active CPA required
      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
      • Knowledge of multifamily and commercial real estate fundamentals required
      • 8-15+ years disciplined accounting department experience
      • 3+ years of experience leading an accounting team as Controller
      • History with a fast-growing business
      • Experience in real estate acquisition and dispositions
      • Experience with Residential & Commercial property accounting including work paper preparation, capital expenditures and depreciation
      • Experience scaling and developing high performing professional accounting team
      • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, superior financial and strategic planning skills and significant familiarity with financial statements, economic analysis, and fair value concepts Desirable:
        • Big Four public accounting firm a plus
        • Experience within a Global Organization
        • Real Estate or Property Management Industry
