MG Stover & Co. is fast growing financial services firm headquartered in Denver with an additional office in NYC. We provide accounting and reporting services to alternative investment funds. Our fund accounting team is involved with all aspects of the client engagement and are critical to the success of the company. They are deeply involved in the portfolio, financial and investor accounting of the pooled investment vehicles.

About The Position

This position will report to the Manager of Private Equity. The Associate will reconcile all the bank activity, record cash transactions, prepare monthly reports and quarterly reporting, prepare capital call and distribution calculations. You will work closely with the team to ensure client deliverables are met.

The ideal candidate has 0-2 years of experience auditing investment funds, or performing investment fund accounting.

This position may be performed on a remote or local basis. Relocating to Denver is not required.

Job Description

• Prepare and maintain the accounting data for approximately 10-20 client engagements
• Ensure all client deliverables are prepared accurately and with a high level of quality
• Reconcile all portfolio and cash activity to source data
• Ensure fund expenses are accrued timely and in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare/review investor allocations and ensure fee/allocations are booked accurately
• Prepare quarterly Net Asset Value reporting for client engagements
• Prepare capital call and distribution calculations for your client engagements
• Draft annual financial statements and coordinate year end audit with client and independent auditors
• Work with the treasury team to initiate wire transfers for clients
• Correspond with clients daily and ensure requests are answered in a timely manner
• Keep an accurate time log and maintain efficient work standards to ensure profitability of engagements
• Identify and track inefficiencies caused by client issues, or other matters and communicate challenges faced
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions with clients and other members of the firm
  
  Requirements
  
  Required The desired candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting and be detail oriented, organized and able to manage various engagements and deadlines.
  
  Preferred CPA Or CPA Candidate
  
  Preferred Experience with investment fund auditing or accounting
